Veterans:
Our organization was founded on the premise that all those serving in the U.S. Armed Forces during times of national crisis, regardless of place of service, are eligible to belong to The American Legion.
Our membership is based on period of service, not place of service. Therefore, if you have served at least one day of active duty during the eligibility dates and are still serving in the military after any of the said periods or have been honorably discharged, you may become a member.
Active Duty Service Eligibility Dates for Membership in The American Legion:
World War I:
April 6, 1917 - November 11, 1918
World War II: December 7, 1941
- December 31, 1946
Korean War: June 25, 1950 - January 31, 1955
Vietnam
Era: February 28, 1961 - May 7, 1975
Lebanon/Grenada: August
24, 1982 - July 31, 1984
Panama: December 20, 1989 - January
31, 1990
Persian Gulf: August 2, 1990 - (this eligibility period
remains open)
Sons of The American Legion - S.A.L
You are eligible to join the Sons of The American Legion if you are the male descendant (stepsons and adopted sons included) of a veteran who was honorably discharged or died prior to dischage from service in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, or the Persian Gulf War(see specific time periods for service above)
Auxilary
The Auxilary is open to all family members of vetersns whose term if service meents the guideliines above. The Auxilary meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at Post 348. Guests interested in membership are invited to attend. nth and interested guests are welcome.
Legion Riders
The Legion Riders welcome all members of the Legion, S.A.L and Auxilary. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month and guests are welcome to meet with us and to ride. There is a one time charge for colors for those who wish to join our organization.
